I'm thinking about upgrading from my GTX 1650 to a RTX 3060 (and also upgrading the PSU as well), and when I researched to see if my 89B5 motherboard supported REBAR (resizable bar), I found this previous thread about another user with a similar issue.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Resizable-BAR-how-to-enable-in-...

In the first image they shared, it seems as though everything is good except for enabling REBAR in the BIOS, but they can't seem to enable it. Which is the same for me, except GPU-Z says my GTX 1650 doesn't have hardware or graphics driver support. Not surprising since the 1650 doesn't have REBAR, but I know the RTX 3060 does.

Furthermore, their motherboard is different from mine. I have a 89B5 with a F.21 BIOS revision, and I can't find the option either. I also know trying to turn it on right now (if it's there) is pointless since the GTX 1650 doesn't support REBAR. So I was wondering if my specific motherboard has it somewhere hidden, or not at all.

Hi @Xavier2000

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I would think Resizable BAR and Above 4G decoding would be in the BIOS: Security menu or the Advanced menu.

These settings would not be hidden.

I have tested a RX 6700XT running various synthetic gaming benchmarks with these BIOS settings enabled and then disabled. I did not see a substantial difference in performance when using Resizable BAR.

So I don't know if Resizable BAR is a deal breaker at this point in time or if the gaming benchmarks I used are not configured to take advantage of Resizable BAR.

Did you run those tests on a Victus By HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i? Also, where in the security menu would Resizable BAR be?20240112_195509.jpg

Hi @Xavier2000

I don't have a HP Desktop PC at this time. I build PCs.

I ran the graphics tests on an MSI B550 Tomahawk MB using a Ryzen 5900X.

The Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding settings are in the BIOS Advanced PCIe subsystem menu on my MB. MB manufacturers put this stuff wherever they want. You have to poke around to see if you can find it.

I would look at the Slot Security and Device Security items. Then check the Configuration Menu.

If you don't see Resizable Bar and Above 4G Decoding options then they are not available.

I don't think it's available. I've seen other BIOS screens before in videos and Resizable Bar would've popped up by now unless I'm missing something.20240112_210351.jpg20240112_211053.jpg20240112_211156.jpg

Hi @Xavier2000

Thanks for the images. I had to do some deep inspection to find these settings on my MSI MB.

Check every configurable BIOS: Menu and sub-menu.

HP may not be including this function in their MBs at this time.

I've checked every sub-menu but I don't see Resizable Bar and there don't seem to be nearly as many options compared to the MSI and Gigabyte boards I've seen videos of. Plus I've heard HP's BIOSs aren't nearly as in depth. So I guess HP doesn't support Resizable Bar.
