I'm looking to possibly upgrade my GPU but I don't want to open my laptop and check if it's integrated graphics or not, the current (Intel Iris Xe) seems to get hot and is often used at least 80% while gaming, 90% if the game has good graphics. This causes me to have performance issues, so I want to upgrade.

No, GPU (if available) is integrated to the System Board which is NOT replaceable no up gradable.
You have to buy new system board of the series (if available). Page 46 of the following manual shows you some options to buy new System Board.
