Hi folks.
Just a couple of questions regarding upgrades.
I currently own a HP Elite Mini 800 G9 that I've had for a few months. The system initially shipped with an Intel i5-12500T processor, 8Gb DDR5 RAM and 3 years warranty but the stock processor is too slow for the tasks I'm throwing at it. Now, I understand the system memory is user upgradeable to a maximium of 64Gb? And doing so won't void the warranty?🤔 However can I upgrade the CPU too?
The last few weeks, I have managed sourced an oem i9-12900T which I believe is fully compatible with the system since they're part of the same Alder Lake family. Currently, I'm just at two minds whether or not I can drop it in, in fear of invalidating my warrenty. Is it safe to upgrade the CPU? If the case is, that I can upgrade the processor, what's the fastest processor this system can handle? Currently it has a huge 150W inline power brick.
Finally, when it comes to reselling. Does the system need to be return back in it's stock configiuration or can I sell it with my customised upgrades? And is the original warranty transferable to the new owner?
Thanks in advance.

Hi:
Below is the link to the HP Quickspecs for the Elitedesk 800 G9 model series.
HP Elite Series 800 G9 Desktops PCs
The list of supported Intel 12th and 13th generation core processors by form factor can be found starting on page 15.
If your PC has the i5-12500T processor, I'm assuming it is the 35W model so you should stick with the low wattage Intel 'T' processors.
The service manual does not show any restrictions as to what you can and can't do with regard to the warranty.
However, since this is a peer-to -peer forum, we are not authorized to write on behalf of HP regarding the warranty terms and conditions.
Off the record, you will probably not void the warranty as long as you don't break something in the process of doing any work inside the PC.
Bear in mind that if the PC does require warranty service, it must be returned to its original hardware configuration prior to sending it in for service.
If you want an official response from HP regarding the warranty terms and conditions, please contact HP customer service starting at the link below:

Very recently someone gave me an i9-13900 (65W) which according to the chart, should theretically work. I tried installing this CPU into the system, only to be greated with a few beeps after system Initialization. I take it when the system beeps with a 13900 installed, it means the default 90W PSU is insufficient? Reverting to the old processor the system boots fine..
Today I ordered a 120W PSU from a reseller... I shall try again.
