I was trying to upgrade the RAM on my Z200 Workstation with a Mushkin Proline 8GB PC3-1066 ECC module.
When trying to boot, the computer made 5 beeps.
It should boot because I have a Xeon X3450 installed in it and on Intel's website it says that ECC memory is supported.
Any ideas why it doesn't work?
Thanks in advance.

per HP quickspecs: memory type supported, DDR3, UDIMM (Unbuffered), ECC and nECC, Max Memory 16GB
the ram you list is ECC BUFFERED, and the z200 requires ECC UNBUFFERED ram

Each processor supports up to two channels of DDR3 memory. To realize full performance at least one DIMM must be inserted into each channel. The CPUs determine the speed at which the memory is clocked. If a 1333 MHz capable CPU is used in the system, the maximum speed the memory will run at is 1333 MHz regardless of the specified speed of the memory.
also memory must be installed in the correct config/order (read quickspecs)
