I had a motherboard die and could not find a Kaili Ver 1.0 for my HP Envy 700-074. I bought what was listed as the correct motherboard but the ver 2.0 arrived. Differences on the motherboard are few, added HDMI and one DVI removed. Two PCI slots for expansion missing but outdated now anyway. I tried finding specs for days.
I am getting a Win32NT-6.2.9200.0 error and when I click OK, I see HP StatusAlert Stopped Working warning flashing quickly and disappearing. Also, my START UP fails to open when clicked on and then requires I sign off (after a few times it does let me get to START UP but programs don't work. I have been able to RightClick and get into some settings to update some drivers. Programs not opening: Acrobat Reader, Google Chrome, MSOffice. Was able to use EDGE for the internet.
Today I finally found info on HP for the MS7826 Kaili (ver 2.0) and discovered referred to as Kaili2 installed on Envy 810-470, 430QE, 493D, all Phoenix. They can accept my processor but using Z97 chipset instead of Z87 chipset from Envy700.
I can use a Windows 10 Repair tool but before using it (installed on a flash), I did research and I discovered that the Kaili2 motherboard I purchased is using an old BIOS revision discussed in many posts for the Phoenix series that uses the Kaili2 Motherboard and is outdated.
My question is this? Should I update the BIOS for the Kaili2, System Board ID:2B36, Bios Revision: KA2 vA0.12 from 01/21/2016 to the BIOS Revision A0.13 Rev.A released on 10/05/16 to see if it resolves some issues?
I am using Windows 10 but original Envy700 was Windows 8.0 upgraded immediately to the 8.1 to get my desktop and then later offered the Windows 10. Cannot recall if there was an update to the BIOS on the Kaili Version 1.0 but I believe there was one.
I need a working computer. I do not have the resources to buy a new one at the moment and my processor is still decent.
Can anybody help me to know if I should update the BIOS to see if it resolves stability and security issues?
Thank you to anybody who can help me.

Thank you for the additional information, @Laura-Med! This is one of the best descriptions of what has been done that I have read on the Forum!! I have checked the Software and Drivers Download page for the Kali2 and believe that you should be able to update the BIOS using the SSID 2B36. If it is incorrect it should stop you before doing the install.
I would appreciate hearing the outcome.

@Laura-Med, welcome back to the forum.

The HP BIOS's are model specific. What is the model of the computer that has the newer BIOS for the Kali2 motherboard?

My Model was an ENVY 700-074 but given that I have changed out the motherboard, some sort of hybrid. Based upon further research last night I believe it should operate now more like the Envy 810-470 Phoenix.
I reused my processor, Intel Core, i5 4430 84W Quad Core with 3.0 Ghz, LGA 1150 socket which is on the approved list. Both Envy computers are very similar due to the Kaili Motherboard with 12GB RAM up to 32 allowed DDR3-1600. Integrated graphics and integrated sound but the Envy 700 used the Z87 chipset with SSID 2AF3 for the Kaili version 1.0 motherboard and the newer Kaili version 2.0 (HP refers to as Kaili2) uses Z97 chipset with SSID 2B36.
I could not originally locate a MS-7826 ver 1.0 Kaili and when I finally located and ordered, they mailed me the Kaili2 motherboard. I need my PC operating (need to work on my federal taxes and do some of my older relatives as well) and decided to try to use the version 2.0 motherboard.
Should I update the BIOS on the motherboard given that I find no HP reference to the KA2 vA0.12 revision, dated 01/21/2016 with any computers operating the Kaili2? All computers I found during research have a newer BIOS revision, A0.13 Revision A and the same SSID of the board 2B36 for the Kaili2.
I probably will still need to use the Windows Repair Tool but think I should do the BIOS first since it repairs some stability and security issues with Windows 10 operating system computers.
THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLY!
