Hello together,
I upgraded my G2 mini to a m.2 SSD-drive.
I saw the secondary (optional) fan in the user manual and as I know the m.2 SSDs run a little bit warmer then a standard SSD I decided to retrofit this HDD fan to my chassis.
After the upgrade of the SSD and the retrofit of the fan everything works fin. But I noticed that the secondary HDD fan will not turn on.
When will this fan start to work? For testing purpose the case is open so far, so is there probably not enough temperature?
Regards Kubunter

Having worked with/upgraded a number of HP EliteDesk 800 Gx DM's (Desktop Mini's), I am inclined to say -assuming your secondary fan is not defective, that your M.2 NVMe SSD didn't get hot enough. And, come to think of it, usually M.2 NVMe drives stay surprisingly cool. And some of the high-end brands have special technologies imbedded to avoid overheating anyway.

You could run Intel's processor diagnostic tool found here: Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool, which will -or rather, should ramp up your cooling fan(s) during the test. You can monitor your CPUs and drive temps whilst running IPDT using a freeware program called Speccy, found here: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download/standard.
