I changed an i3-8100 to an i5-8500 without a hiccup and without increased noise on the 2UZ41AV. I decided to put in an i7-8700 using the same 65W CPU cooler that came with the i3-8100. I can see that the temperatures under load are higher: without stress testing, in the range of 90, idle around 41. Under load, the fans go on max and the system is no longer nicely quiet. In addition, the temperatures are not very stable, and I suspect the heat sink does not perform sufficiently well.
To solve that, I can either put in a L04397-001 or a Noctua cooler. For the Noctua cooler, I would like to know if I need any special backplate for the CPU or if I can apply any Noctua cooler that I can fit in the chassis to the computer.

Hi,
Go ahead with Thermalright PEERLESS Assassin 90SE, it is a perfect kit and I use it with my HP Elitedesk 800 G4 TWR. I have replied with images in another thread.
See this video for help.
