Hi
I have several EliteDesk at work for running lab equipment. We want to explore VR immersion (for teaching and research) so I've bought two headsets and graphics cards (GeForce RTC 4060 Ti), only realising the EliteDesk case is quire small and won't take a full-sized graphcs card even though it has a PCI Express ×16 slot.
The simplest solution is to move to a larger case - but HP seem to have their own motherboard format with a hardwired power button.
Does the EliteTower take the same motherboard format as the EliteDesk? Can you buy a tower chassis on its own?
The other solution is to transfer components onto a new motherboard, case and power supply but (a) costs more and (b) will break my Windows licence and get me in trouble with ICT.
Any advice appreciated!

Welcome to our HP community forum!
The HP motherboard for an HP EliteDesk 800 G6 SFF and TWR (Tower) with p/n: M87929-601, are identical. In other words, if you got an HP EliteDesk 800 G6 TWR case, the SFF's motherboard would fit just fine.
Kind Regards,

Thanks for your quick reply! OK I'll chase the HP reps (I'm at a university that uses HP for all its PCs) and see if they can source for me. Complete pain this bespoke motherboard format, would be quicker just to buy a new case elsewhere, but that hardwired power button makes that difficult!
Otherwise I guess I have to transfer all the components onto a new (but standard-sized) mothereboard and deal with it breaking my Windows installation...
Cheers
