HP Engage Flex Pro
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an Engage Flex Pro it came with pentium g5400 cpu. It has intel Q370 chipset so it should support 9th gen cpus.

But when I install i7-9700k bios alerts as cpu not found. Is there a bios update for 9th gen CPU support?

Thanks

@btaymaz,

Your HP Engage Flex Pro does support Intel's 9th generation LGA 1151 processors.

For example, it does support the 9th generation Intel i5-9500 -no slough either by any standard, which a User got to work here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/49587591 with BIOS date "20201018" -if that is of relevance. The only main difference between the i5-9500 and the i7-9700K I can see is that the latter has a 95 watt TDP vs a 65 watt TDP for the i5-9500.  It wouldn't be the first time that 'TDP matters' in the HP universe, especially considering that all the CPU options HP lists are all 65 watt or less.

Btw, a very close second in terms of processor speed would be Intel's 8th generation Core i7-8700. -Just want to mention it.

Kind Regards,
