Envoy 750-524
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can the Envy 750-524 with motherboard IPM17-002 support an MVe SSD. I would like to upgrade the C: drive and will the bios support it? Thanks for any help provided.

@saulf41,

No....☹️    One M.2 socket 1, key A .   That M.2 socket is for Wi-FI card.      Key M is data.

Can it support a PCIe to NMve adapter and then plug in the drive? Will BIOS recognize that combo? Thanks for your reply.

@saulf41

NVMe requires the use of a PCIEx4 or greater slot.  You have a x4,x8,x16 slot (graphic) and a x1 slot.

Not sure I understand your answer. I do have a PCIe X16 slot so are you saying the adapter will work with the NVMe drive and the bios will recognize for boot purposes?

@saulf41,

I am saying PCIEx4 or greater is necessary.  It should be recognized by the motherboard.  Not sure of BIOS.

Thank you very much for your time and answers they are very helpful. Do you have any suggestions on how I can find out if the bios will accept as a boot drive?

Do you know if I can use this combo (PCIe adapter and NVMe drive)strictly as a storage drive not as a bootable drive? If mb can see it will windows 10 be able to see it as another drive for storage? Thanks for any help you can provide.
