I have an hp pavilion desktop with the erica 6 motherboard and currently an rtx 3050 gpu. I am looking at an rtx 5060ti and have already verified fitment as well as an appropriate psu upgrade. I plan on doing a ram upgrade as well to 32gb during this all. Im just trying to verify that the gpu upgrade is in fact compatible with my motherboard.

@Mhau99,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

All right, I am going to assume that you are referring to an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx as fitted with the Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) and that you got at least a 500-watt power supply.

Regardless, the challenge is that the latest generation Nvidia RTX 50xx and AMD RX 90xx series graphics cards have proven to be not universally compatible with many HP Omen and Pavilion gaming desktops.

Best results have been with Asus cards.  Whatever you do, if you go with an RTX 5060 Ti, make sure you can return it if this card is either not working or shows functionality issues. A safe alternative would be an RTX 4060 Ti, btw.

Kind Regards,
