Removed HHD from previous HP Pavilion pc (running good, can hear it hum in Pavilion ) connected to replacement / new HP Envy with SATA-USB - HHD won't run. Does not show in disk management nor does it run (no sound of disk running)

Hi,

I would look at the SATA to USB adapter you are using if the HDD worked correctly when it was installed internally in the Pavilion.

Try all available USB ports on the new PC. Try the existing SATA to USB adapter on a different PC if possible.

Regards

Ok, but your computer boots with the original HDD, right?
Or do you just think the HDD is working?
If it does not work in usb, try internally, if you have a free sata slot, with power connector!

if that doesn't work either your HDD is probably HS
