Hello,

please be aware that the newest BIOS F80 from Nov. 2023 is not capable to set SATA mode into AHCI :

After configuration in BIOS to SATA AHCI and reboot, it's keeping SATA RAID Mode.

BIOS-Update  SSID 8917

The consequence is an inaccessable boot device.

Windows Rescue or problem solver can't help at all.

HP Support is asking to do a BIOS recovery, but this did not help,

as you were ask to update always to the newest BIOS version.

Hwllo Alden4,

as written already, this was done before.

I was in contact with two agents and they opened an internal ticket to claim the buggy BIOS.

They can not do anything else then saying, sorry and please wait.

They asked me to fall back the BIOS with no success, it keeps being F.80.

Manual Downgrade is also not allowed, so, I was assuming HP is a serious company.

Who in the hell is disallowing downgrade, if you don't have a real quality check ???? HP!

And they also told me to use the newest BIOS Version.

Then they asked me to install new, but this is a really bad advice as the switch to AHCI is difficult and running a HP Gaming PC with RAID instead of AHCI, very funny.

And perhaps you have read my initial post:

This is a warning, not to install this BIOS !.

It seems to be a quality issue that noone really tested this BIOS carefully.

BIOS was released in November but noone really cared.

The BIOS is warning you and comitted with an extra F10 button, but it keeps always falling back to RAID mode.

Specification of the motherboard blizzardoc:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5037050-5037113-16

SSID:8917

chipset Z690

Socket Type: LGA 1200 (well this was last used  for Intel 11th generation Rocket Lake, but it seems HP is using 1200 for following processors as well)

Intel 12 (Alder Lake) ,13th and 14th generation (Raptor Lake)

No BIOS available support Raptor Lake processors.

Only a F.80 without AHCI support and a F.51 with no Raptor Lake support)
