I’ve got a Z420motherboard in a different case with an NZXT fan controller. This means that the PC complains about the fans being missing on boot, but pressing F1 cancels the message.
However my son has recently got a Wooting keyboard and it doesn’t work until the drivers are loaded, so we have to plug in another keyboard to press F1.
Does anyone know a way of making blanking plugs for the fan headers to fool the board into thinking the fans are present?

According to this post, I can fake the CPU fan by connecting pin 1 to pin 5. Just need a 5 pin connector now, annoyingly I threw away a dead CPU fan I could have harvested one off. HP Z420 ATX modification | «WatchMySys» Blog

I've found this page that says I need to link pins 1 and 5 on for the CPU fan to fool the motherboard. Pity I threw away a dead fan I could have harvested the plug from! HP Z420 ATX modification | «WatchMySys» Blog
