When I started my computer, I received a "fan is not working" error 90B

It says I should not start my computer, how can I fix this?

Thank you,

Amy Smith

That is a serious problem, if accurate.  Depending on whether this a desktop or laptop, the troubleshooting steps will be different.  In any matter -DO NOT continue using the PC with this problem.

Please post the model number.

Since this is a laptop, it will require additional effort to actually check on the fan.  Here is the manual

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06267280.pdf

Chapter 4, page 10 - starts with what is involved and the tools needed.  Chapter 5, page 25 - starts with the opening the case instructions.  You should read through the manual to see just where the fans are located and how to get to them.  If this seems to be beyond your skill-set or desire to "DIY" it, then a repair tech should be consulted.
