Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i RCTO Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

The PSU in my computer is faulty, and I know nothing about computer hardware. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what kind of PSU to get to replace it. I'm not sure if this was just a bad PSU or if this type of PSU as a whole is bad, but I'd rather get a different kind than I have now if possible. However, I have no idea what to look for. I've provided the product info in an attachment if that helps at all. Open to any suggestions. I not only use this computer for gaming but also for university coursework, so I need to find a solution ASAP. pc info.png

@CP138,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The power supply for your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i as fitted with the Reno2 motherboard (SSID: 89B5), is (or should be) a 500-watt unit with p/n: L89233-005 / L89233-001 / L77487-001 / L77487-003 / L81009-800 "PSU 500W MT WS20 EPA90", which I would recommend for your system.

Your PC probably came with a 400-watt power supply, but I noticed that the most recent Victus PCs are equipped with a 500-watt unit, starting with an RTX 3050 graphics card.  Having a more powerful PSU will definitely help as it wouldn't have to work as hard, so to speak, than a lesser-wattage power supply.

You can buy a new compatible 500-watt power supply from a trusted eBay Seller, such as this purchase option:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/405278553997?_skw=L89233-001&itmmeta=01JVBDTZWEYF3TXC27856XXXX0&hash=item5e....

Swapping the power supply is very easy, go to timestamp 04:32, and this HP instructional video has got you covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9Lnyvln1-I&ab_channel=HPSupport.

Kind Regards,
