HP Compaq Elite 8300 USDT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

   Hi

I've recently added mSATA (P/N: MZMPF032HCFV-000H1) HP P/N: 697927-001 to my HP Compaq Elite 8300 usdt as boot drive. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit but the drive's performance doesn't seems good as compared to other SSD drives I'm using in other systems. Following is the read/write speed test result.

I bought this used drive from market and I don't know which HP System it originally belonged to.

Firmware of the drive is FXM42H2Q

It seems to me that the firmware is quite old and need to be updated, but the problem is that since it is an OEM drive so Samsung Magician don't offer full support for it.

The drive is SATA 6.0 and the Interface also supposed to be SATA 6.0 according to the system specification. But as you can note both Samsung Magician and CrystalDiskInfo consider it running in SATA 3.0 mode

The other drive in the system is Intel Intel® SSD 320 Series which is SATA 3.0 and is performing upto it's specs.

What I believe is that this drive needs a Firmware update and It is running in SATA 3.0 mode and not 6.O that's why it is slow.

Kindly suggest what should I do

@GeniusSourcing,

USDT   Manual   (also includes the other models)

The mSATA slot is for disk cache, and has GB limits which you have exceeded.   Pg 9

Only SATA 0 and 1 headers support SATA600 hard drives / speeds.  pg29

About your theories?  You can not equate SSD drives operating in different chipsets.

Your also referencing an antique unit,  circa 2012.
