Hi @d1106,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you would like Upgrading the RAM speed on your OMEN 25L gaming desktop can enhance performance, particularly for memory-intensive tasks. However, this process largely depends on both the capabilities of the motherboard and the compatibility of the RAM sticks being used. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Check Motherboard and BIOS Support:

  • Before upgrading, ensure that your motherboard supports a higher RAM speed.
  • You can refer to your motherboard's manual or the HP support website for this information.

Choose Compatible RAM:

  • If your motherboard supports faster RAM, purchase RAM sticks that match this speed.
  • Ensure they are compatible with your current system.

BIOS Update:

  • Make sure your BIOS is up-to-date, as newer versions may offer better memory support and improved compatibility.

Enable XMP (Extreme Memory Profile):

  • Most modern systems support XMP profiles, which automatically set the memory to its rated speed:
  • Enter the BIOS setup by restarting your computer and pressing the required key (often F10 or ESC).
  • Look for an XMP or Memory Profile setting and enable it. There might be multiple profiles, so select the one that matches your RAM specifications.

Manual BIOS Settings:

  • If XMP is not available or doesn’t work, you might need to manually set the memory speed, timings, and voltage within the BIOS.

Take care and have an amazing day!

On most Omen 25L PCs, RAM speed depends on the motherboard/CPU. Try enabling XMP in BIOS if your RAM supports it that’s usually the only way to boost speed. If not, you may be limited to the default speed.
