After I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 last night after I received my new SSD, I noticed the front USB 3.0 ports not working.  I've tried everything including reseating the cable, updating USB drivers, reinstalling USB drivers, and even trying different USB 3.0 Motherboard cables- all to no avail.  I'm thinking that the drivers that Windows installed automatically were the wrong ones, however, when I try to install the original driver it just says that my OS isn't supported (since it is for Windows 7).  Can anyone help me with this?  Thanks in advance.

Press the Windows key + X and select device manager.

In device manager under the Hardware categories, find Universal Serial Bus controllers and click to the + next to it to expand the list.

Once the list is expanded, right-click each one and click Uninstall, uninstalling them all one at a time.

Then restart the computer so Windows can re-install them.

Then try your USB's again.

Great job.  I did what you said and not only will Windows not reinstall the drivers for USB I also can't make it install them since the keyboard and mouse are USB.  Not only that, I've had to reinstall Windows since I can't get in to my PC and Windows won't even recognize my SSD to install Windows onto!  Maybe I'll just install linux instead, since Linux doesn't break over stupid issues that shouldn't even be there.
