I prepairing to replace front chassis fan in my computer HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor. What happens when I start the computer with a new fan? I adding the models of the fans that can better identify the post.
Fan #1: Foxconn PV902512PSPF
Fan #2 (new): Foxconn PVA092G12H

Both of those are 4 pin fans so should work find. Since there can be differences you might want to adjust the speed to be about the same. This assumes there is a fan speed and adjustment options in the bios.
Take the opportunity to blow as much dust out of the system as possible.

Looking at the specs of both cooling fans, you should be fine. Just make sure your MOBO's fan speed control works: when your processor is running hot, the fan should be spinning up.

The only color that could be possibly be important are the "wire" colors. Note that the pin values of ground, +5, sense and control are all identical positions which is all that counts.

The fan should work fine. Just make sure it spins the correct direction and is not mounted backwards. I have done that and even worse.
