@Tornadoranchero, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

You're looking to move your HP Pavilion 550-016 into a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer case and need clarity on the front panel connector compatibility. Great project! Here's how you can proceed:

Front Panel Connector Compatibility

The HP Pavilion 550-016 uses a custom motherboard (often referred to as the Odense2-K or similar), and unfortunately, HP does not officially publish detailed pinout diagrams for these proprietary boards. Here’s what you need to know:

Front Panel Header: HP typically uses a single block connector for the front panel (power switch, HDD LED, power LED, etc.), which may not be directly compatible with the individual pin connectors found in standard ATX cases like the Cooler Master Storm Enforcer.

Workaround: You can manually trace the pins or use a multimeter to identify the correct pins for:

  • Power Switch (PWR SW)
  • Power LED (PWR LED+/-)
  • HDD LED
  • Reset Switch (if supported)

Steps to Proceed

Check the Motherboard Model:

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + S on your HP PC to bring up the system information window.
  • Note the motherboard name (likely Odense2-K or similar).

Download the Upgrading and Servicing Guide:

Use a Front Panel Adapter (Optional):

  • If you're comfortable with DIY, you can use a front panel adapter or repurpose the HP connector by splicing wires to match the Cooler Master case’s pin layout.

Important Notes

  • HP’s front panel connectors are not always standard ATX, so proceed with caution.
  • If you're not confident with electronics, consider consulting a technician to avoid damaging the board.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
