Hello,
I have an HP envy laptop (intel 12900h / Nvidia RTX 3060 / 32 gb ram) connected to a HP G5 essential dock. Everything is updated to latest versions (Bios, Windows 11, Intel drivers, Nvidia drivers, G5 firmware). I do have an external g-sync certified screen which can go up to 175hz and allows variable refresh rates.
When I connect my external screen in HDMI to the laptop directly, I can enable G-sync in Nvidia parameters.
However, when I connect the screen to the G5 dock with a displayport cable, the G-sync option is never available. The G5 dock is connected to the laptop with USB-C / thunderbolt 4
Does anyone has an idea of what's wrong with this setup ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
J.

Hi @jammy01,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with enabling G-sync using your USB C dock.
G-sync will work when it is connected to the ports that are G-sync compatible.
It must be connected directly to the ports on the device with no adapters or conversions. As most of the USB C docks not supported with G-sync.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
