Omen by HP Obelisk Desktop PC 875-0034 - GPU 1660 Ti - Edoras Motherboard

Hello, I have seen a question in regards to the same thing but the answer provided wasn’t much use to me so I figured I’d ask myself. I would like to upgrade the GPU, to something much better but I am stuck on what I can use or even upgrade too, I’m not really into building computers so I don’t have much experience in the matter. I was looking towards getting something of the 3070/3080 Ti but there’s so many I’m not sure what to look for.

@Itachi0027,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Obelisk Desktop PC 875-0034 (4NN43AA) as per: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-obelisk-desktop-pc-875-1000i/25644598/model/28355573... and: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-obelisk-desktop-pc-875-1000i/25644598/document/c0612..., is fitted with an ATX 24-pin power motherboard, the Edoras (SSID: 84FD).  Your 500 watt power supply has at least one 8-pin PCIe power cable to power your Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti  6 GB.

Yes, you can fit an RTX 3070 (minimum 650 watt PSU) or an RTX 3080 Ti (minimum 750 watt power supply), but it would mean replacing your stock HP 500 watt power supply with any industry standard ATX power supply.  You just need to watch the ATX power supply's dimensions (L x W x H) to ensure it will fit inside your chassis.

Take a look at what graphics cards HP Obelisk Desktop PC 875-0xxx (Edoras 84FD motherboard) Users have fitted in their rigs: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-OMEN-by-HP-Obelisk-Desktop-875-0xxx/101805.

Also, you need to watch that any replacement GPU will actually fit inside your case.  Some cards may be too long, for example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777
