I have an HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2234 (318G6AA#ABA). It uses the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics. I am pleased with the CPU but would like to upgrade to the native GPU. I am unsure how much excess power I have to power a new graphics card. What type of motherboard does the machine have? Is it PCIe 4.0 or 3.0? Does it have a PCIe x16 slot; how can I tell which slot(s) is the multiple lane PCIe slots? Will a new graphics card fit in my chassis? Also, are all NVidea and AMD cards compatible with the motherboard?
Any help you could offer me would be greatly appreciated.

You have the eriica6 motherboard and it has a PCI express "gen3 16" for graphics
However, you have only a 180 watt power supply which precludes some of the newer graphic boards.
Possibly the following 400 watt may work. The seller states "Tp01" compatible so you might contract them to be sure.
I would start a the following spec (gtx 1060)
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1060-6-gb.c2862
and look under board design and scroll the GPU listings until you find a board that is under 400 watts (or 180 watts) and is in your budget.

Hi @BeemerBiker
it might be better to check this
erica motherboard
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/upgrades/m-p/8234279
It is shown here with the baker motherboard
although it might be compatible, in doubt..
