@ZeresenayNuguse,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP ProDesk 400 G7 SFF according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06713676.pdf is either fitted with a 180-watt or 210-watt power supply.

An AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB according to: https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt, requires a minimum 600-watt power supply, and this power supply must also provide one 8-pin PCIe and one 6-pin PCIe power cables to power this graphics card.

The problem is that there are no 600-watt power supplies available for your desktop, and the second issue is the size of an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB, which will not fit in your case.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for the response, One more question can you point out if there are some budget desktops that are compatible with the RX5700xt GPU . Thanks again

@ZeresenayNuguse,

The problem is that any budget HP (Tower/full size) desktop that are readily available on eBay, having space to fit your RX 5700 XT 8GB graphics card, are all fitted with weakish power supplies, insufficient to power your graphics card.

My recommendation is to search online -for example eBay, for a 'budget gaming PC', such as this example (is fitted with an EVGA 600-watt power supply): Budget Gaming PC | eBay.

I must warn you though, that the challenge with these inexpensively priced & used computers is that you are taking a considerable risk, and you may have to spend additional money to upgrade the RAM and a larger drive, for example.

You could look on Amazon or Newegg, such as this new budget gaming PC, fitted with a 550-watt power supply that may probably just work for your RX 5700 XT: IPASON - Gaming Desktop - AMD A8 7680 (4 Core up to 3.8GHz) - Radeon R7 - 240GB SSD - 8GB 1600MHz - ....

Whatever you do, research your options carefully. If you use your PC for professional or gaming purposes, it is better to budget more for a system that will last a while.
