Hey all! Was wondering if it was at all possible to upgrade my graphics card from the 1650 super to a RTX 4070 with a 500w power supply? My computer is the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1022. Current specs are GTX 1650 super, I7-10700 2.9 htz(upgraded from original) and a 400w power supply(will be upgrading to 500w) also a 256 gb M.2 SSD NvMe.

It depends on the RTX 4070 card. For example, a Zotac RTX 4070 Twin Edge 8GB only requires one 8-pin power supply cable: ZOTAC RTX 4070 Twin Edge Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database and would be okay with an HP-branded 500-watt power supply in my opinion. You'll have to carefully add up the wattage of all your known power consuming components in your PC.
Please note that overall, the recommended minimum power supply for an RTX 4070 is most often specified to be at least 600 watt. Many manufacturers, such as Nvidia, even recommend a 650-watt minimum power supply.
Btw, your 500-watt power supply can power a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB without any power concerns.
