Hello.
I recently upgraded my processor from the stock G630 to the i7-2600s, and moved the OS over to a 1TB SSD.
I think I've added a few more years with just those upgrades (speed and efficiency have skyrocketed).
I don't play any games on this PC. Just casual browsing/downloading.
I do host a Plex server, but all media storage is external. I am constantly adding new media.
I use Handbrake a lot, to re-encode video files before adding them to Plex.
The internal HD graphics have sped up the encoding process a bit, but I'm wondering if a dedicated GPU will do the job even quicker?
I know that I have a legacy bios, so the best I could do is GTX 670.
Will this card outperform the internal graphics? Or will the difference be negligible?
Thank you.

It would be a superior addition to the graphic ability. You will need to upgrade the PSU to have the needed PCIE power plugs. The GTX 670 needs 170W. NVidia suggests a 500W PSU, I would suggest the Corsair CX550.
