I have a windows 8 hp desktop, its about 8 years old, just put a new hard drive in and turned on the computer. The screen is still black and says error: no boot disc has been detected. It won't let me go to menu or anything. I don't know what to do.

Hi:
A new hard drive comes without an operating system.
That is the usual error you get when no operating system is installed.
Did you reinstall Windows on the new hard drive?
What is the full model number or product number of your PC?
Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.
