HP Victus 15L
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello , I have HP victus 15L with a 350w psu

Currently I have a GTX 1650 , and so I have been wondering if I can upgrade to a better gpu without upgrading the psu ,seen some people putting in RX 6600’s but still unsure due to the minimum psu req for the RX 6600 is around 450 or smth

The other option would be an RTX 3050 6GB , it needs a 300w psu but just wondering if I can get something better.

Hi @Portocale

My pleasure.

Thanks for the info.

Check this image of your PSU at eBay. It looks like the PSU has two 4 pin connectors to the MB, one 7 pin connector to the MB, and a 6 +2 pin connector for a discrete graphics card.

You might be able to do some of the 400 watt graphics cards at my previous YouTube link using the existing 350 watt PSU.

The 400 watt and 500 watt HP PSU part numbers are respectively: L04618-800 and L05757-800. You can get either part at eBay.

Your PSU seems to be compatible with the parts I listed above; I can't say for sure.

I would verify the seller accepts returns if you go with the 400 watt or 500 watt PSU upgrade.

Regards

Hi @Portocale

A 350 watt power supply kind of hamstrings graphics card upgrade options.

Does your power supply have any supplemental  6 +2 pin PCIe connectors to power a better discrete graphics card?

What is the part number of your power supply (PSU)? I would recommend a 400 watt or 500 watt PSU upgrade but I am not familiar with the HP 350 watt PSU.

You may have a newer 12V only PSU. I can't suggest any PSU upgrades if you have a PSU that is not compatible with the 400 watt and 500 watt PSU upgrade options I can provide. The HP 310 watt PSU matches up with the PSU upgrades I am familiar with.

Check this Site for some graphics card upgrade options using a 400 watt or 500 watt HP PSU.
