Greetings programs. I’m trying to upgrade the 2060 RTX that came with my Omen 880-160 to a 4070 SUPER. My problem is that the 4070 is a beast of a card and blocks the 6-pin GFX_PWR1 connector on the motherboard. The 4070 came with a 16-pin 12VHPWR to 8-pin PCIe power adapter cable (2x8-pins in to 16-pin out). Do I need to worry about the GFX_PWR1 pins, or will plugging two power tails (P9 and P10) into the adapter and leaving GFX_PWR1 open be sufficient?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-160se (2TB61AV) as fitted with the Tampa2 motherboard (SSID: 8437) has a 6-pin "GFX_PWR1" power connector which is designed to provide additional power for PCIe expansion cards, primarily graphics cards (GPUs).
However, your 750-watt power supply's P9 and P10 graphics card 8-pin PCIe power cables are all that is needed to power your GTX 4070.
In other words, leaving the "GFX_PWR1" power connector unplugged is perfectly A-OK.
Kind Regards,

Hi
When upgrading your graphics card, make sure it's compatible with your system (check power supply, case size, and PCI slot). Choose a card that fits your needs (e.g., gaming or video editing). Don’t forget to uninstall old drivers and install the latest ones from the manufacturer’s website. Also, ensure your CPU and RAM are balanced with the upgrade to avoid performance bottlenecks. Let me know if you need help picking the right card!
Good luck with your upgrade! 😊
