Hi,
I have a friend that got this desktop from Walmart : https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbished-HP-400-G1-SFF-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i3-4130-Processor-4G... and upgraded it's RAM to 8GB. Everything works fine but now she wants to upgrade it's Graphic card so her son can play games on it.
Since it's an SFF and it's PSU is just 240W, which graphics card would you recommend getting to play games like fortnite, etc.?
Thanks!

Hi:
The best and most modern graphics card you will be able to install in that model would be the geForce 1030 GT.
It has a max power draw of only 30 W, which should work with the 240 W power supply.
I am not a gamer, but you can check the specs out regarding the video card, or read reviews and see if it will work for her needs.
Just make sure that you get the low profile model that also comes with the low profile mounting brackets included in the box.

I bought this model for my older 8200 Elite CMT.
Otherwise, I recommend you buy one of the original supported graphics cards for the SFF model listed at the link below...

Paul,
Thanks for the response!
I was looking to buy 1030 one itself with a 30W power consumption from Zotac: https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-DirectX-Profile-ZT-P10300A-10L/dp/B0711NWFJX
However, I also found this 1050 one with 75W power consumption. :

Would the 75W be too much? And should I stick with a 1030? If yes, Zotac or EVGA which would be better?

You're very welcome.
Yes, the 75W model would be too much for the 240W P/S.
Not to mention the PCIe x16 slot wattage is rated at 25W in the SFF models.
At least it used to be in all of the previous SFF generations. This is the first document where I don't see the slot wattage listed.
I'm thinking the 30W card is pretty much at the limit.
If you look at the list of graphics cards in the link I posted yesterday, you will see that none of the ones for the SFF exceed 20 Watts.
