OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0197c

I have NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER™ (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated) Graphics card.  My expansion slot says: PCIe Gen 3.0 x16 socket.  I am looking for options to upgrade this graphics card.  I am getting overwhelmed trying to figure out my options.  I am trying to figure out what is compatible and what will fit on the Dorado Motherboard that I have.  Most of this is Greek to me.  Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

Your OMEN 25L GT12-0197c Desktop PC (13Z02AA) as fitted with a Dorado motherboard (SSID: 8704) with p/n: L96320-001 / L76700-001 / L76533-001 and a 500-watt power supply, probably with p/n: L20529-001 -please verify.

Since your motherboard is 24-pin ATX-power enabled, you could upgrade your power supply with any industry standard ATX power supply, as long as you watch its dimensions (LxWxH) for fit inside your case.

If you want to stick with your current 500-watt power supply, you could upgrade your graphics card with an RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070, RTX 3060, RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti, to name but a few, choose a model that is powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable. Take a look around (Amazon, Newegg, even eBay) and see what you are willing to spend: new or used.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

I have found a Graphics card that I am interested in.

maxsun GeForce RTX 3070 Terminator Vidoe Gaming Computer Graphics Card GPU for Computer Gaming PC 8GB GDDR6, RGB, PCIE4.0, Metal Backplate

Amazon.com: maxsun GeForce RTX 3070 Terminator Vidoe Gaming Computer Graphics Card GPU for Computer ...

also, replacing power supply with:

EVGA 700 GE, 80 Plus Gold 700W, Eco Mode, 5 Year Warranty, Power Supply 200-GE-0700-V1

I don't see why these 2 products won't work, am I missing anything?

@KeithB5,

Yes, the Maxsun GeForce RTX 3070 can be powered by an EVGA 700 GE power supply, which has dual (twin) 8-pin PCIe power rails.  This is what I said in my previous comment, that if you upgrade your power supply, you can install even higher-end graphics cards.

Both the GPU and the PSU should fit in your desktop, but make sure that the EVGA power supply's dimensions: 5.5 x 5.91 x 3.4 inches (LxWxH) are a fit.

Kind Regards,
