Hi, I want to upgrade my graphics card because the current one only has 8GB of VRAM, which isn’t enough for my needs anymore.
What graphics card would be a good fit for my computer?
Also, will replacing the graphics card affect the software I already have installed on my PC?
Thanks!

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
The specs-link you provided shows that you got an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB powered by a 600-watt power supply -please verify.
There are a number of options I would suggest you can go.
If you do have a 600-watt power supply -likely with just one 8-pin PCIe power supply cable fed by a single power rail (splitted 8-pin PCIe power cables do not count), I would recommend an RTX 5060 Ti OC 16GB, such as shown here: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-NVIDIA-GeForce-Overclocked-Graphics/dp/B0F4Y6N6PW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2QO1QGD....
And yes, also from personal experience, the difference in gaming performance between 8GB and 16GB VRAM is significant, as this Reddit user also observed: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1k6y6n8/3060_ti_to_a_5060_ti_16gb_was_a_big_upgrade/.
This particular graphics card purchase option is priced very well, by the way.
Another option would be to upgrade your power supply to a quality 750-watt power supply, such as one of these purchase options: the fully modular 750-watt Corsair RM750e as seen here: https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-RM750e-Modular-Low-Noise-12V-2x6/dp/B0DPR6X7JX/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2U16N5..., or the fully modular 750-watt Thermaltake Toughpower GT 750W as seen here: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Toughpower-Efficiency-Connector-PS-TPT-0750FNFAGU-3/dp/B0DJ6BM9X8....
Btw, a fully modular power supply makes power cable management in your case so much easier.
With this power supply upgrade, you could consider something like an RTX 5070 Ti OC 16GB, such as this Amazon purchase option: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Graphics-256-bit-Extreme-Performance/dp/B0DWHHSZH1/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1SBP21..., which will make your gaming truly spectacular -but I digress. Since this is a full-length triple-fan model with a length of 303mm (11.9 inches), make sure it will fit in your case.
Obviously, the latter upgrade option is considerably more expensive.
Anyways, hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

You’ve got a solid system, but if 8GB VRAM isn’t enough, consider upgrading to an RTX 4070 Super, RX 7900 XT, or RTX 4080 Super.
No worries-replacing the GPU won’t affect your software. Just update the drivers after the swap.
