Want to upgrade my graphics card to play simple war strategy games.  Can't download game software.  According to my son he believes I need to upgrade my graphics card.  I don't even know how to find out if I have a graphics card in my computer and if I do find out information on it.  Can any help or guide me to somewhere I can get this information and purchase a card it I need to???

If this is you PC?

It does have a PCIx slot but if the spec page is correct, there is no graphics card.  It uses integrated graphics.  Also with only 180w power supply, adding a graphics card will be problematic.

It might be possible to upgrade the power supply, but considering your statement "I don't even know how to find out if I have a graphics card in my computer " it might be you will need some help with this project.

Start with opening the case and getting dimensions for the existing power supply and a picture would be helpful, too.  From the upgrade manual pictures, it appears that might be doable.

Hi The Old Man.  Thank you for your reply and information.  Believe it is obvious that I am not computer smart but did want to know if the upgrade was possible.  From what you said do believe is but also have to upgrade the power supply.  Will go to local stores and check how much this will cost to get done.  If it is to expensive will have to purchase a new computer.  By chance would you know the approximate cost so I don;'t get ripped off.  Thanks appreciate your time and assistance.

@leecoast,

The HP 595 series all use a proprietary power supply (PSU) that the locale shop could have to order. The base price is $75 +/- for the PSU. The following excel spreadsheet reflects my research into the various submodels that all use this PSU.  From this cross-reference you can follow the pattern.  Your computers motherboard would handle the 400W PSU and a GTX 1060. It would require the shop to install the parts. The rear of the chassis where the new PSU slides into place would also require removal of some material to allow the new PSU to fully "vent".   Click on the spreadsheet to expand to full screen.

This spreadsheet is my work in progress, and will feature updates. The newest HP TP series also uses these PSU's.
