Hi. I'm currently trying to install a graphics card to my son's HP Pavilion since he can't play any games and can barely watch videos. Saying I'm not computer-tech savvy would be an understatement so we really need help picking the appropriate graphics card, if one can even be installed. Any suggestions/info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

@stacymay , welcome to the forum.
Hopefully, my explanation will not confuse you even more. The newer graphics cards require a lot of power to operate properly. The power is provided by the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer. The PSU in your son's computer is 310W. There are very few graphics cards that will operate with this small amount of power. Most cards require at least 400W. I have found one that should work, however:
The card in my link is sold from the United Kingdom. I am certain that you can find one in the US. You should read the reviews from users to see what they have to say about it. One reviewer mentioned some of the games that he plays. This will help you know if it will work with your son's games. There are numerous videos online that explain how to install a graphics/video card.
I hope this helps you. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
