HP ENVY 700-214 Desktop PC

My desktop began turning off on its own, then would not turn on at all. I pulled the tower out and saw the green LED light on the back of the power supply was blinking. When I pulled the wire harness from the motherboard it stopped blinking. I purchased another psu just to experience the same results. Does this mean there is a short in my motherboard and needs to be replaced? Or could it be a different issue?

@SeanMcNerney , welcome to the Community.

Due to the age of your computer (Released Jan 23, 2014) it could be a number of different causes for your problem.  My first culprit would always be the PSU, but you have proven this to not be the problem.  My next suggestion is test the memory.  Remove all of the modules and replace them one at a time in the slot closest to the processor and boot.  If one of the models has failed the computer won't boot.
