Just got this brand new computer and when I start it up, it makes a grinding noise. Also the disk usage spikes to 98-100% while I am not running anything. Not quite sure what to do.

Then you have a total warranty issue. Wishing you the best.
When HP contacts you, and does the RMA, I would suggest you do a full recovery (install new OS) saving no personal files, to remove all your data.

That is a custom (CTO) model. S Does that unit have an SSD device, and what type? M.2 or 2.5"
If the 2TB is the issue, I think HP would just RMA the drive and swap it out.
BTW, you need a 500W HP proprietary PSU to run the TRX 2060 Super. See data sheet.
