Pavilion TG01
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

My HDD seems to have died, and since I am well in my warranty, I thought I'd get it replaced (I did not do anything to damage it obviously, and it's only appr. 1.5 yrs old).

I ran the HP Diagnostic Test, got a failure ID and all that.

There is no option to chat with support on the UK site, I assume I'll have to call, but looking at the site there are no HP Service Centers anywhere near me... So starting to be a bit worried.

How will this work, does anyone have any experience with HP replacements in the UK?

Thank you to anyone who responds!

I would first look up the serial number at WD or Seagate and see if you can return it to them.  If their diagnostic says it is an OEM drive then you got to contact HP to return it.

It would be nice if you could file the claim on-line, show the diagnostic error, and return just the disk.

Someone here that works for HP needs to pitch in on this thread to tell who /where to contact.

All I can see is a phone number like you mentioned and no online help.

Cheers, I'll try it that way checking the serial no etc, I'll probably try and phone HP too, hopefully somebody will point me in the right direction. Thanks for the response!

Hello
@ancsy07 everything that is originally installed in the computer is guaranteed by HP

https://www.hp.com/us-en/privacy/limited_warranty.html

You have very little chance that the manufacturer, of this or that equipment installed, will take charge of the repair / replacement.
You must contact hp by following the link for your country like here

Contact HP
I know that sometimes, users, do not manage to get the phone number, serial number not recognized, or other
In case of problem let me know

If I understand correctly your computer, is more than one year old?
Do you have a warranty contract other than the purchase one?
I make the request, because in general the HP warranty is only one year
You can use the two-year warranty, but in this case it is no longer the HP manufacturer's warranty here.
