Solved: HDMI video card recommendation - HP Support Community

Hi,

I purchased an HP Pavilion desktop a few years ago. It has 4 GB memory with an Intel Pentium R, CPU G860 @ 3 GHz. I am looking to add an HDMI video card to connect to my flatscreen tv. Do you have any recommended HDMI video card to install?

You will need to install a PCI Express x16 (Gen 2.0) video card that has legacy BIOS support.

That means that the GTX 10xx series video cards will not work in your motherboard. Your PC cannot boot with a video card that has only UEFI BIOS support

It would help to know what you plan on using the PC for. Are you planning to do some gaming?

If you are, then you will also need to upgrade the PSU to one that has at least 500 Watts and at least one PCIe power conector for the video card. I recommend a Corsair Builders series PSU. They are highly regarded by the PC enthusiast communitl and are good value for the money.

All of the video cards below support the legacy BIOS that your PC's motherboard has.

For light gaming

Thanks Erica! I will not use the video card for gaming. Only viewing YouTube and such on my tv. If all I need is the card you initially recommended, I will sign off.
