HP 23.8-inch FHD IPS Monitor with Tilt/Height Adjustment and Built-in Speakers (VH240a, Black)

I bought the "HP 23.8-inch FHD IPS Monitor with Tilt/Height Adjustment and Built-in Speakers (VH240a, Black)" from Amazon for a simple second monitor for my work laptop. However, the screen blacks out for about 2 seconds every once in a while. The screen also does not seem as bright as it should be. My laptop screen is about twice  as bright. I bought a warranty with the monitor, but I was hoping for a quicker fix rather than a replacement.

@YP-Sam,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the monitor screen goes blank every two seconds.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

When was the last time the monitor was working fine?

Have you checked the monitor on a different computer?

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver on your computer and check whether the issue is resolved.

I await a response at your earliest convenience and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
