Recently I installed 2x8GB sticks of 1600MHZ PC12800 Memory to my HP 3500MT, it previously had 2 sticks that totalled to 6GB, I'm not sure of the frequency of either, but they were mismatched and I believe it was 4GB + 2GB. When I go to boot, I get 5 beeps, with about 1 second between each beep and then pausing for 2-3 seconds before beeping again. This happens around 5 times before it stops and the orange light stops flashing. Any ideas?

Your 3500 is similar to my 3400 and supposedly only 8gb max. The memory needs to be low density. Usually one can tell because there are chips on both sides of the stick
My 8gb sticks are Micron as shown below. What type are yours. Also, did you reset the CMOS and what bios version?

I've seen that it's only 8GB max, though even just 1 stick in doesn't work. It is low density I believe, they're 2 dell sticks and didn't reset CMOS. I will check bios version when I am home. Thank you for your help.

You should have 8 chips on both sides for low density. If only 4 on one side or back side is bare then probably high density
Bios version seems correct. I have 716 but bios is unlocked. The 16gb worked fine before I figured out how to unlock so made no difference for me.

There is a saying "as phony as a $3 bill".
In your case, no manufacturer of RAM has produced sticks of RAM, with 3GB per stick.
So, the only way to achieve 6GB of RAM with exactly 2 sticks is to use one 2GB stick and one 4GB stick.
Yes, the capacity of those 2 sticks is "mismatched".
But, if all the other specifications, such as the speed of each stick, are identical, then the motherboard probably will consider the two sticks to be "matched".

- Non-ECC, DDR3 SDRAM UDIMM (1600 MHz)
- Two (2) DIMM slots

Red Power LED flashes five times, once every second, followed by a two second pause. Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue until problem is solved.

so you have as an option
the computer, does not accept 8 gb modules, and not 16 gb at the max
This could work, but your modules are not compatible at all
tested both modules on their own, in each slot, nothing more, it does not work, look no further

Found on the Internet:
The system board offers two memory sockets.
These memory sockets are populated with at least one preinstalled DIMM.
To achieve the maximum memory support, you can populate the system board with up to 8 GB of memory.
For proper system operation, the DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must be:
● industry-standard 240-pin
● unbuffered non-ECC PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 MHz-compliant
● 1.5 volt DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs
The DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must also:
● support CAS latency 9 DDR3 1333 MHz (9-9-9 timing)
● contain the mandatory JEDEC SPD information
In addition, the computer supports:
● 512-Mbit, 1-Gbit, and 2-Gbit non-ECC memory technologies
● single-sided and double-sided DIMMs
● DIMMs constructed with x8 and x16 DDR devices; DIMMs constructed with x4 SDRAM are not
supported
NOTE: The system will not operate properly if you install unsupported DIMMs
So, check that the Dell RAM meets these specifications (DDR1333 and not using "x4").
