HP ProOne 440 23.8 inch G9 All-in-One Desktop PC (564F8AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Thoughts I had bought a HP All In One configuration with built in speakers (the vendor website said so), but the device shows no "Output Device" for sound.

Running the Realtek variant and plugging in headphones work just fine.

So how do you know if the speakers are there or not?

HWInfo?

Some other test?

I have absolutely the same problem. A month ago, I received my brand new G9 AIO desktop (i5, WIN11 version). Everything is fast but there is this unsolvable problem - the system doesn't detect an audio device. Being an IT enthusiast, I removed driver, rolled back old ones, updated Windows, removed updates and all other known tricks but with no avail. A month passed and I still need to use headphones for my web meetings. Any suggestions what to do?

The specifications state there is an internal speaker.

Have you tried installing the sound driver software from the software and driver portal?

Update: I have asked about this internally.

Thank you for the suggestion but I did it multiple times already. Each time I tried different combinations of the following: uninstalled the old driver, uninstalled the device, let the Windows install it, installed third party diagnostic software, asked the software to install all drivers, installed HP assistant, asked the assistant to install all drivers, manually uninstalled the drivers and installed them again, etc. The physical device is missing from the device manager and HWinfo.

Hi @Bozhil

I understand that you have an issue, but what you are doing is called hijacking a thread.

This is the reason that there is an "I have the same issue" at the original post in a thread.

Always start your own thread.

Perhaps I should have specified that I was making a suggestion to the original author of the thread. The original author always has precedence over people who jump into the conversation.

Being an original author does have benefits in all forums and not just this one.

@MrSatchie

If you have tried everything that @Bozhil  has done, including installing an updated BIOS, your PC has a hardware issue on the system board.

If that is the case, you should initiate a warranty claim.

A fellow HP Expert provided me with some insight.

In the Maintenance & Service guide on pg. 8 there is a list of miscellaneous parts. In that list there is mention of tape (for use in models without speakers).

There appear to be different model configurations. I do not know how to tell the difference except for specifications.

I would take a long hard look at the specifications on the PC as delivered to see if it lists with or without speakers.

My personal preference is external speakers, because of the better fidelity on those a level above the "el cheapo versions".

I would also have thought there would be speakers.

If the vendor website described it as having speakers, you  should be able to get them to replace it, depending on how long it has been since you purchased it.
