Hi community,
I write to this community to look for find help in toggle the fn lock using Linux on my new HP 460 Bluetooth Keyboard.
I have paired this keyboard with a Raspberry PI 5 8GB using the latest version of Raspbian.
Since there is no official HP Linux (neither amd64) application to disable the fn lock I decided to write my own driver, by tying disassembling the application used to have control on this both on Windows and macOS platform but without success and I don't have the hardware that supports the bluetooth packet sniffing. So I failed to find the byte sequence to send at the device in order to toggle the fn lock.
Is anyone tried to do so or found any other workaround?
I have to report to HP that providing the serial number of the keyboard in the form that the website require for asking for assistance (and link the product to the account) does not work with the one of my keyboard.

Hi @Alden4,
Thanks for the reply.
I think I am not authorized to send you a private message because I don't see any button on this post, on your profile and neither the icon you told me; probably due to my few posts in that forum or something related to my short seniority here.
I tried to insert in the form what is labeled on the lower part under the keyboard S/N: (10 alfanumeric characters) but it's giving me error: "Immettere un numero di serie valido" (Please insert a valid serial number).
I think I will not find anyway what I am looking for: a sequence of bytes to send via the Linux hidraw interface to set the keyboard in fn lock mode for using the F1, F2, F3 keys as normal F keys and not (mute, vol-,vol+ eccetera).
That sequence is related to HP how implemented the hardware of the keyboard and the software that handles it so I think is unavailable on consumer documentation.
Instead I was trying to reverse engineer the software that runs on my macOS platform, to find the byte sequence I am looking for but it's really time consuming and I was asking myself if HP would provide it to me.
Just for you know: reverse engineering is not illegal while used for that kind of scopes and my intent are not harmful to HP in any matter, instead it could be so useful both to HP and customers to have this nice keyboard unofficially supported for Linux.
While waiting your answer,
Best regards,
Wraith.
