Hey guys,
I've got an HP Pavilion 690-OOxx Gaming Desktop and I've always wanted to either replace the small 128gb SSD or add on a 1tb SAMSUNG 860 Evo V-NAND SSD. Is it possible to upgrade this without replacing the HDD or the boot SSD? As in, how could I add this SSD in with the other drives?
Thanks,
Alex

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
I can't determine your PC's specific specs using 690-00xx.
Many consumer PCs have a small boot and operating system PCIe M.2 drive in addition to a slower 1 TB platter HDD for storage.
You can replace the platter HDD with a SATA SSD without messing with the boot drive.
I don't think this is your objective.
You may need to replace the 128 GB PCIe M.2 drive with a larger PCIe M.2 drive if you are having storage issues.
Or adapt by moving data and program installations to the larger HDD. Moving programs requires uninstalling the programs on the current disk and then reinstalling the programs on the larger HDD.
Spreading program installations across two disks creates a operating system recovery problem.
You have to decide where you want to go.
