HP Recommended

Can the HP 710 wireless keyboard be locked or turned off?  There is no manual available.  I know there's not a switch, but I was hoping for a keystroke series or something. 

The keyboard does have a button with a lock icon, but I can't figure out what that does either.  It doesn't disable the keyboard or seem to be a number lock as they always work.

I'm not concerned about battery consumption or anything, but every time the cat walks through it wakes the computer and I'm trying to avoid that.
