Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to update the bios on my desktop (750-114), which uses the Odense 2B47 motherboard.  I did a search for the bios, but was informed there are no updates available for my computer.  Can someone point me in the direction of the most recent bios file for this computer?  Thanks!

This is the only BIOS update I could find:

Thanks, Paul, I couldn't find that for the life of me.

I installed it without issue; however, when initiating the installation, a message appeared saying the computer SSID was different from that of the file.  Apparently, the ssid.tx file was missing from the installation files.  It allowed me to move forward, but wanted me to use the file to make a "bootable USB for other devices."  I ignored the suggestion and selected "update bios", as it was an option, and the installation progressed successfully.  I only did this as I had confirmed that both the SSID of the file you provided and that of my computer were identical.  Just a little bit of information for whoever might have the same issue as I did.  All the best and thanks again!

You're very welcome.

Glad you were able to update the BIOS after that strange message.

I'm also more than 90% sure that the update I gave you was the last one HP released for your PC.

I found that update from a discussion I answered in October of 2023 and since that was more than 5 years after that BIOS update release date, it's definitely unlikely that HP released a BIOS update between that time and now.

You wouldn't happen to know which cpus the bios covers?  I'm trying to update to Windows 11, but my CPU isn't supported (i5 6400).  I was hoping for a 7th gen, like the i7 7700.  Any thoughts?

Even installing an i7-7700 would do you no good because that processor is not on Microsoft's list of W11 processors.

Your PC should be able to run W11 just fine as is.

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in doing an in-place upgrade to W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have tried many different ways to do this during the last 3 years.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).

Download Windows 11

You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below. The top line is for 64 bit.

You'll have to repeat this procedure each October when Microsoft rolls out the new builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.

If things don't work right on W11, you have 10 days to easily go back to W10 as long as you don't delete the W1 upgrade files or the Windows.old folder.

According to the Microsoft website, the 7th gen processors, including the i7 7700, are now supported:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-10-22h2-supporte...

This result is from including the version of Windows 10 I'm currently using - 22h2.

I was hoping to get at least one of the 7th gen processors to work, so I don't have to be concerned with updates in the future.

You posted the link to the W10 processor requirements.

This is the link you need to look at:

I have a Dell PC with an Intel i7-7700 processor, and it does not meet the W11 hardware requirements, but I upgraded the PC to W11 when it first came out in September of 2021 and have been running on each successive version of W11 ever since.

Don't I feel stupid! LOL!

I mistakenly referred to the Windows 10 list as those needed to upgrade ... nevermind ... LOL!

Okay, looks like I'll forge forth with your recommendation.  Thanks so much for your input and clarification.
