HP All-in-One - 22-c0014na

I have an odd situation here. As per the HP specs this AIO has a 1 Tb Toshiba HDD from which Windows 10 should run, the folders are on there. However there is also a 16 Gb NVME SSD. Clearly this cannot run Windows and comes up as No Media when I remove it and attach it via USB. Does anyone know what this drive is for? The owner denies adding it since the PC was new.

That is a 16 GB Intel Optane M.2 memory module which is used as a cache to accelerate the mechanical hard drive.

You install the operating system on the hard drive and use the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software to enable the Intel Optane memory.

Further information about how to do that can be found at the link below:

I suggest that you install a 1 TB NVMe SSD in place of the Optane memory and remove the HDD altogether.

Thanks Paul is that why it reports as "No media"? Indeed I've removed the 16 Gb SSD and reinstalled Win10 with a 256 Gb NVME. Still struggling to read anything from the 1Tb HDD though.  Too bad.............
