I have a HP AIO 22-df0023w with 8 gb hynix 3200MHZ factory installed. I took apart a HP Laptop Model 15 that has a 8gb Hynix Part Number HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH / PC4-2400T-SA1-11, 260 pin Laptop / Notebook DDR4 SODIMM, 2400MHZ, NON ECC.
I tried to install in my desktop to upgrade. I got the memory error so removed it. Can anyone tell me the specific type of RAM I should buy?
Thank you,

Thank you for verifying your RAM data.
Point is, the 8GB Hynix 2400 MHz RAM stick should technically work, but since HP computers are known to be picky when it comes to RAM -especially with regard to (mixing) RAM speeds and such, I would recommend you buy an identical 8GB Hynix HMA81GS6DJR8N-XN RAM stick, which as fate would have it, is currently on sale via eBay for just $12.88 from this trusted Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235112009464?hash=item36bdc48ef8:g:vKgAAOSw3AxkyStv&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4D....
Hope this was helpful.

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!
Your HP All-in-One - 22-df0023w (9EE21AA) is fitted with a MonkD motherboard (SSID: 86F3) -see: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06543675, and can be upgraded up to at least* 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 260-pin RAM sticks.
* Crucial claims max RAM to be 2 x 32GB: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-22-df0023w-all-in-one.
Let's find out what RAM you got installed now: type cmd in your Windows search bar, right-click on the Command Prompt App, and left-click on "Run as administrator", then "Yes" to provide permission, and copy/paste/enter the following command:
wmic memorychip get devicelocator, manufacturer, partnumber, capacity, speed, memorytype, formfactor
Please share what you got.
