Hi there. I have a HP Compaq 6500 pro with the Athlon II 2 core processor. Is it possible to upgrade to a Phenom II X4 or X6? Thanks.

The motherboard has an AM3 socket, which should support any Athlon II processor that is "AM3".

 

I see a computer similar to yours for sale on eBay, but listed as "quad core" -- not your "dual core".

 

So, it seems possible.
