I bought a  2-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express x1 Controller Card.

. I have installed it and it fits into the slot great. My problem is that the 3.0 card must be powered. It has a place white 4 pins, I think it is called a Molex male. So I would need a 4 pin female to fit it but I do not know I need on the other end of the power cable that will fit in order to power it. Also, where would I plug the outer end into my pc in order to power it? Thank you for any help anyone can give.

@cowebb1

You are correct about the MOLEX plug -- and you would need a MOLEX female plug from your power supply,  If you do not have a spare one, you would have to buy a splitter -- a Y-cable that has two plugs on one end.

If you don't have a MOLEX wire from your power supply, you would have to buy an adapter that transforms a power lead into a MOLEX plug.  And if you don't have a spare power lead, you would need to by a splitter for that, too.

Don't know what you mean by "outer end".  If there is another connector on the end of the card, and it is not for a USB cable, then it is probably a multi-pin connector that you can use to plug a USB Y-cable into it.  I have one of those plugged into my USB 3x card and it connects the card to USB 3.x jacks on the front of the case.

@WAWood,

He meant "other end". The PSU in those units does not have ATX plugs.  It it proprietary. See page 7-1

@cowebb1,

You will have to get a SATA power splitter with the correct leads that also includes a molex 4 pin.  That also have to be specified, as the card might be male or female molex.  Enjoy the quest. Let's see:      Maybe this?

I meant "the other end" not "the outer end". Sorry
